We are especially proud of our ultra-premium whole tomatoes, as they best demonstrate our dedication to vine-fresh flavor and can-after-can consistency. When we created Alta Cucina® (and later Valoroso®) in the 1980s, my Uncle Dino Cortopassi set out to establish a new gold standard for Italian-style tomatoes, inspired by the San Marzanos he tasted in Italy as a child. We pay growers a premium for select varieties, flavor-blend for balance, hand-sort and gently pack each can with fresh basil, then protect it all with proprietary cooker-coolers.
