We are especially proud of our ultra-premium whole tomatoes — of all our products, they best demonstrate our dedication to vine-fresh flavor and can-after-can consistency. When we created Alta Cucina® (and later Valoroso®) back in the 1990s, my Uncle Dino Cortopassi set out to establish a new gold standard among Italian-style tomatoes, inspired by the San Marzanos he first tasted in Italy as a child. We pay our growers a premium for select varieties, flavor-blend like fine wine grapes for balance, then hand-sort and gently hand-pack each can with fresh basil — all protected by our proprietary cooker-coolers.
